Originally from New York, Dan went to Boston College, playing in a band with musicians (and friends) from Berklee while there. After graduating he worked for several years in the investment banking and asset management industries on Wall Street, eventually making it to Senior Vice President.

Even a strong curiosity and interest in capital markets however was not enough to keep Riatta away from his lifelong passion: performing and writing music.

As the world changed in 2020, Riatta re-committed himself to that passion. His debut solo album, which is told from the perspective of an individual undergoing a period of internal and external change, was released in October 2021.
